Burn Information

Before You Burn

Our district participates in the Before You Burn program to provide residents with current information about outdoor debris burning conditions and restrictions.

Before conducting any outdoor debris burn, residents should use the Before You Burn system to check whether burning is permitted in their area. Conditions can change daily based on weather, fire danger, air quality restrictions, and other factors that affect public safety.

How It Works

  1. Visit the Before You Burn website and enter your address or location.
  2. The system will identify the agencies responsible for your area and review current burn conditions.
  3. You will receive information regarding:
    • Whether outdoor debris burning is allowed
    • Current restrictions or burn bans
    • Fire danger levels
    • Weather conditions that may impact burning
    • Any requirements that apply to your burn

If burning is not permitted, the system will provide information on applicable restrictions and direct you to the appropriate agency if additional information is needed.

Why Check Before Burning?

Debris burns that escape control are a leading cause of preventable wildfires. Checking conditions before you burn helps protect lives, property, natural resources, and emergency responders. Even if you have burned in the past, regulations and conditions may be different today.

We encourage all residents planning to conduct outdoor debris burning to check conditions beforehand and follow all applicable safety requirements.

Remember: Check Before You Burn, Every Time You Burn.
